That being said, I'm 30 today. Technically, I'm not 30 until something like 9pm or so, but that's splitting hairs. I'd love to say I'm in the best shape of my life, but I'm not. Being a geek tends to have that effect. However, I can say that I'm in better shape than most of […]

Christmas 2K7 is now in the past. The Alton Brown prime rib went over really, really well. Unfortunately, someone suggested it would take only an hour to cook eight pounds of meat at 200°, and deferring to her 40+ years in the kitchen, I started cooking it at 3:30. Suffice to say we were finally […]

I've passed this article along to my wife (as have thousands of others). Here's to hoping she actually reads it. One of the biggest problems I continually face online is that I prefer to communicate "briskly." I view small talk as even more pointless when it occurs online, and I'm not a fan at all […]

I'm on a mission: I'd like to discover how to make a good prime rib at home. I'll begin with a Google search, but if you've got any tips, share them in the comments. It looks simple enough.

I've come to realize that the most screwed up thing about stupidity is that you simply cannot defeat it.

The prednisone seems to have done the trick. I'm coughing less too, so perhaps I've had a month-long case of laryngitis that only recently fully manifested itself or the coughing just seems to have gone away. I cough a lot more when I talk, less when I'm just sitting here. Carey's been dealing with adult […]

I've tried to condition myself over the past few days to only talk when necessary. I've noticed, oddly, that if I'm not careful that attitude seems to pervade my instant messaging as well. I've caught myself a few times trying to be very short or use abbreviations when I normally wouldn't, as if typing less […]

I won't be saying much out loud for the next few days as, while driving home last night from Columbus and The Memorial, my voice went out. I had a cough that would not go away three weeks ago that had just subsided, but the stress of this past week seems to have allowed it […]

To me and my wife. We were going to weed this weekend, but it's rained or been yucky since about 11am yesterday. Perhaps we'll be weeding on Memorial Day.

Happy Mother's Day to all the fantastic mothers out there. You may have the most important job in the world, and you do it so well.

Today I began working, in earnest, on a project that will be done by the end of the month. It's going to be an entire site built in WordPress. I learned a lot doing the EDGA site that will apply to this. I'm sure I'll post more later when the project is completed.

I do like to write something every day. I think it's a good habit to get into. Poof!

Today, as Adam pointed out, marks the 1000th day since Carey first emailed me back in, uhhh, 1000 days ago. Since then, this happened, and so much more, of course. We were married, bought a house, have sent a kid to school, and so much more. All because of one 14-word email sent 1000 days […]
