Due to a variety of things - a semi-bum shoulder I didn't want to risk hurting further prior to a golf trip, the golf trip, etc. - tonight was my first hockey game. It's incredibly obvious that I've got a long way to go before I get to even a "good" level, but fortunately, that's […]

I played rather streakily. Except my putting - that was off all week. ๐ My best round was, by far, the Friday afternoon round at National.

Pine Needles is, by far, one of my favorite golf courses in the world. I think it's a better course for the average to good player than Pinehurst #2 - by a long stretch. It's got elevation changes, it's got hard and soft doglegs in both directions, and it's got devilish greens that aren't quite […]

George and I played National Golf Club from the Blue tees today. I shot 75, including a back-nine 35 with a birdie at the last to close out any chances George had of getting back any of the $6 he lost in skins. It was probably the best I've played all week, all things considered. […]

I know they needed rain very badly here after a long drought, but couldn't it have come last week instead? ๐

The Steelers offensive line need replaced en masse. And that's all I have to say about that. ๐

So what's the general consensus on Heroes, season two? I said after last season's conclusion that I wasn't sure I was going to watch this season. I don't care about the Guatemalan people, Sylar, "the company," or any of that stuff.

Just recently, rather than sending my DVDs from NetFlix back to Pittsburgh, I've noticed that they instead go to PO Box 13001, Erie, PA 16514. Cool.

If nothing else, this game showed whiny Mike Holmgren that the only fluke in Super Bowl XL was how badly the Steelers actually played in that game.

Dear AFC Team Looking to Hire a New Coach, Hire Bill Cowher. He's great. Plus, as a Steelers fan, I'll have one less team to worry about. Win-Win! Signed, Happy with Tomlin

Bruce Arians had a very bad gameplan (very little play action, too much of the old "run-run-pass" offense). The offensive line had a horrible game. And key penalties (one leading to the TD return) and mistakes (Ben's INT from the two yard line) cost the Steelers the game. Even still, I like everything both Ben […]

Today I played golf at the Bedford Springs. I'll have a review of it online at The Sand Trap within about a month.

What shows - new or old - will you be tuning in to this fall? I plan to give Chuck, Journeyman, and a few others a shot. I don't know if I'll bother to watch Heroes - I may record it and watch it if I have the time, but not otherwise. And I will […]

Only in Pittsburgh: But in Pittsburgh, he has achieved celebrity status. When movie star Will Smith accompanied Tomlin to dinner at a local restaurant, fans mobbed their table รยขรขโยฌรขโฌย to meet Tomlin. According to Hammons, Smith told Tomlin it was the first time in 20 years he had eaten in a restaurant and hadn't been […]
