Ice Cream

I'd really like to eat some ice cream right now, but alas: I have none. This is the true problem with hurricanes: they knock out power and then you can't get milk, ice cream, butter, and eggs for days on end. Woe is me! 😀

Oakland 21, Pittsburgh 24

Well, the first game of the NFL season and I forgot that it was Sunday. Consequently, my NFL Sunday Pass from DirecTV didn't do me a lick of good. Here's ESPN's box score. Bettis had a total of one yard rushing for… three touchdowns. Staley contributed a solid 91 yards with 3.8 ypa, and Maddox […]

QotD: Electoral College

Question: If you were to design your own electoral college, how would it be designed? My Answer: I don't like that the views of Californians (55) are 1375% as important as those of people living in Maine. I think that there's a great disparity. I don't think that DC should have its own three votes. […]

Mozkito RX Scooter for Sale

Anyone want to buy pretty nifty scooter? Here's the eBay listing (it will appear at 6:00pm EDT). You can see a gallery of images here. The scooter sells new for $2200. $1250 is fair, but I'd go as low as $750. Is anyone in the southern Florida area interested? It's got < 700km on it, […]

Xcode/CVS Issue

CVS works fine from Xcode, but it throws this error all the time: cvs update: inflate: unknown compression method cvs [update aborted]: reading from server: Input/output error What's up with that? I can use CVS from the CLI without this error. I'm using the stock CVS, and other people working on my project don't get […]

Services Schmervices

Are "Services" (that menu in your Mac OS X app) as annoying to everyone else as they are to me? Jeez. I've got about a billion things in there, and each of them seem to fight over keyboard shortcuts. I want about five or six things in there. There seem to be ways to add […]

Cinema HD 23

I've got a new metal-beveled 23" Cinema display now, replacing my old plastic one. Everyone I talk to says the same thing: it's far less impressive than the older, plastic-rimmed ones. People in Apple stores commonly think that the 23" display is the 20" display. It just looks smaller. It's still mighty impressive, but I […]

QotD: September 11

Question: What, if anything, are you doing today in honor of 9/11. My Answer: I'm going to live my life. I think that the biggest thing we can do to stick it to those who oppose our way of life is to live our way of life. You are encouraged to answer the Question of […]

QotD: Trilogies

Question: What's your favorite trilogy? My Answer: Tomorrow, Andy and I are going to watch Die Hard, Die Hard 2: Die Harder, and Die Hard With a Vengeance. Right now I can't think of a better trilogy. Star Wars doesn't win. The Lord of the Rings doesn't win. Most of the others that could beat […]

NetFlix RSS Feeds

Yay! And into PulpFiction they go… with their own label and a folder into which they will be filtered.

Future Posting in Ecto 2

Is it possible? The only options I see are "Publish" and "Draft." Where's "Future?" Hrm…

Mac Icon Designer Needed

I believe that our icon designer has gone missing, and so we (FSS) are in need of an icon designer. If you know of one, are one, etc. and would like some work, by all means leave a comment or get in touch with me directly. We're currently seeking icons for MailDrop 2.0 and FTPeel […]

My Comment was Deleted

The only comments I delete are those that are: Comment spam. We all know what this is. Offensive, degrading, lies, etc. Horribly malformed comments that mess up the display of my site.* That doesn't seem to be the case with Gabe, who seems to simply delete comments that disagree with him. I forget my original […]

Deng Xiaping, Mac User

From an article on Wired: If Deng (Xiaoping) were still around today, he'd be using a Mac. I'd take him over John Kerry, I think. 🙂

QotD: Lack of Internet

Question: What's the longest you've ever gone without having Internet access in the past five years? My Answer: Eight days - the past eight. Ugh. You are encouraged to answer the Question of the Day for yourself in the comments or on your blog.
