Okay, so more than one giant computer company has a sense of humor. Sun shows us some of their rejected ads and Microsoft foists Office 12 with brushed metal and Aqua-like components on Windows users. The difference? Sun is laughing with their customers, while Microsoft is seemingly laughing at them.

For some reason, for the past few weeks, I get several queries a day from what seem to be bots - except they're not, because they respond "intelligently." One is named "betcha20bucks" and they IM constantly asking "WHO IS THIS" and other stuff. From just now: 12:36:34PM betcha20bucks: HI 12:36:58PM betcha20bucks: WHO IS THIS 12:37:56PM […]

An article at IGN claims that the PS3 and the Revolution will both support WiFi out of the box. August 10, 2005 - While all three console manufacturers finally agree on the importance of online gaming, Nintendo and Sony have expressed particular confidence in the growing popularity of wireless Internet connections at home: both the […]

Bud, I hope this helps, since no email to you gets through. Your email ID has been replaced with "emailaddress" below.

And hey, this shows up prior to Apple's announcement: With iTunes 4.9, you can now browse and subscribe to podcasts from within the iTunes Music Store. Podcasts are frequently updated radio-style shows downloadable over the Internet. You can also transfer podcasts to iPod, for listening on the go. I don't really care if there's more […]

Among the dumbest things I've heard today, in Adium: "Ha ha, now you will get viruses too you piece of shit Mac user! Enjoy your crappy Mac OS X on Intel, fool!" Steve Jobs could probably sell freezers to eskimos. Unfortunately, the average eskimo IQ is probably sixty points higher than the average "PC d00d." […]

Something occurred to me today that I haven't seen talked about everywhere: Windows emulation on Mac OS X won't be "emulation" anymore. Sure, Microsoft or whomever makes a Windows "emulator" might throw Windows into its very own "environment" ("Wininwindows," anyone? - it makes sense to keep the taskbar and the dock separate), but with an […]

IE 7 may be getting tabs, but in the words of one person: Stop gloating about how you've caught up with five years ago and begin addressing the bigger issues, i.e.: CSS and XHTML. Heh heh heh. Does anyone care about IE anymore? Seriously?

I have no idea how anyone could possible think these new Longhorn screenshots look good.

Right, cuz Macs have always been the ones with the funny file naming conventions. Particularly when displaying images in Web browsers. Uhhhh, no. Nice little slap, there, Adobe, but I'll gladly uncheck the "Mac OS 9" and "Windows" checkboxes (after I found them - what a pain) and leave the "UNIX" box checked.

Clearly, the Adobe buyout of Macromedia is big news today. I'm a fan of competition, and this seems to be a smack in the face of that. But whatever. I do remember that I once reviewed Fireworks 1.0, Fireworks 2.0, and ImageReady 1.0 for MacAddict. Both applications have come a loooooong way since then.

This one's for me, of course: embedding images inside the source of a HTML page. Might be an interesting way to send HTML email without attachments, too.

It's funny to read the comments of the PC-ites on the meaning of the word "replace." So funny it prompted a Daring Fireball article. I wasn't aware of the Windows way of doing things - "merging" instead of "replacing." To me, the Mac definition is far closer to the meaning of the word "replace." Folders […]
