It's tough to imagine what in the world Sony was thinking with the PSP Go. This Ars Technica review sums it up pretty well. In the middle of a recession, Sony has released the most expensive portable system on the market, and as an added bonus the company seemed to go out of its way […]

The 2009-10 hockey season kicks off tomorrow. The Penguins will raise their Stanley Cup banner and spend a few more minutes thinking about what they accomplished last year. How lame would it feel to be a new member of the team, watching the banner get raised? How lame is it that a few of the […]

Whew! I check up on Chuck now and then since it ended this spring… was it cancelled? Not cancelled? Two sites both list it as renewed and returning in March. Yippee! One of the best TV shows left.

Last-minute defeats against the Bears and now the Bengals after barely sneaking out a victory in the first week? It seems Mike Tomlin's cushy soft camp this year isn't serving him well. I really like Mike Tomlin, but dude needs to get his head in the game. Bruce Arians should have been fired several seasons […]

I ran into a situation today that kind of ticks me off. A friend and I are playing in a two-man golf tournament. After one guy stands on the line of his partner's putt (in violation of rule 14-2), I point out that it's not cool and someone might call him on it if he […]

For a few years now we've had a 19" TV hooked up to an old TiVo (a Hughes unit) in the bedroom. This has worked "okay" as a second source for television programming the few times we had conflicts. With hockey season coming up, I decided now was as good a time as any to […]

I'd like to have a Scrabble night at our house. It's a good game on a number of levels. Perhaps every other Saturday or something - weekly would be overkill. Maybe we can play different games on the odd weeks ((Or would they be the even weeks? :-D)).

I got two of the Kontrol Freeks - two of each kind, that is - for the Xbox 360 and I must say they're pretty nice. I can't wait to try them out in Forza 3.

The game will also be the first game on the Wii to feature "demo play", where players will be able to pause the game, let the game complete the level for them, and resume play at any time by unpausing.

Today was the first round of the EDGA Championship at Downing. I shot 79 and missed the first cut by two. Despite that, I'm quite pleased. I chalked this year up to a "work on my full swing" kind of year and I can easily say I've never struck the ball better for 18 holes. […]

Anyone with an opinion on Weeds? Thus far I like it more than Mad Men, but not as much as Entourage. I've watched season 1 and part of season 2 on Netflix streaming on the ol' Xbox 360. And FWIW I first liked Mary Louise Parker on West Wing.

Just looking for recommendations: what's the best book you've read recently?

If you're a fan of Wii Sports (and goodness knows we'd have still bought a Wii if that was the only game available for it), then you should really pick up a copy of Wii Sports Resort. It's bigger, better, and has some pretty fun stuff in it. My favorites include Basketball, Archery, Table Tennis, […]

I've just gotten in on the new Xbox fall update, the preview. There are a lot of things I don't really care about - you can buy "props" for your avatars now, for example - but the update is well worth it for one area of improvement alone: Netflix. The first run at the Netflix […]

Mad Men Yourself lets you put yourself into AMC's Mad Men. Here's me: I've now watched season two, and my thoughts are about the same as season one: not bad, good, not great. The writing still seams weak to me and it's tough to relate to the characters. I know they're stereotyped to heck and […]
