Question: Who is the best announcer in football?
My Answer: John Madden is out. Nearly everyone on CBS is out. Chris Collinsworth knows his shit and isn't afraid to tell you when you've fucked up, so that's a plus. The Monday Night Football team (except Madden) are good. I'm going to have to go with Chris Collinsworth. He's a lot like Johnny Miller in golf (who would be high on my list of all announcers). He tells it like it is, and he's been there as a former player too.

Question: If you could change one thing about your daily routine, what would it be?
My Answer: Ignoring all the silly, trite answers (not having to go to work, waking up next to Shania Twain, etc.), I'd have to say "showering." I don't seem to find showering to be as pleasurable as some people find it, and it's largely a time when I can't multitask. Thus, I've become king of the three-minute shower. Still, the total time spent is about ten minutes. Ten minutes, twice a day, 365 days a year is… over 121 hours I could have spent doing something else!

I went to buy some ice cream tonight. I got out of the car at Albertson's and saw a pretty tasty looking woman walking in front of me. She stopped just outside of the grocery store, looked at her watch, and lit up a cigarette. 60 to 0 in 3 seconds flat.
As I was leaving Albertson's, I saw a cute gal packing groceries into the back of her car, talking with someone who appeared to be her sister. "I should smile and say hello" I thought to myself. Then she said "Hey, where's the eggs?" Not quite as fast a halt as the other, but needless to say, I walked on by without a smile or an introduction.

Let's get into it quickly:
Do you really believe:
[[[MyClass alloc] init:[foo bar]] autorelease]
is easier to read or write than:
MyClass.alloc().init(foo.bar() ).autorelease()
Yes, I do. Some others from the list on which I have comments follow.

Great tip!
defaults write com.apple.Xcode PBXBuildSuccessSound FILE.wav
defaults write com.apple.Xcode PBXBuildFailureSound FILE.wav
If you're using Project Builder, then substitute "ProjectBuilder" where you find "Xcode".

Question: How often do you buy underwear? How often do you wear underwear?
My Answer: I haven't bought more than five pairs of underwear (boxers) in the past three years. Why? Because I had about 100 pairs of underwear from college. After all, the more clothes you had, the less often you had to do laundry. Of course, this logic also resulted in ten-hour laundry days, but I digress. I wear underwear 90% of the time. The only times I go without are when I'm bumming around the apartment on a hot day. When I'm alone.

Question: When did you begin using what you now consider your full-time OS?
My Answer: Mac OS X Public Beta, and in fact Developer Preview 4, were put into heavy use. I occasionally ran classic mode when I had to, but I also signed up to beta test X versions of several pieces of critical software so that I could use X full-time even sooner. What a long way we've come since those days! Wow!

Question: What's your favorite Thanksgiving side dish?
My Answer: Cranberry sauce. A little tart, a little sweet, and gooshy enough to fit into all the cracks.

Question: What do you cook for Thanksgiving?
My Answer: My family makes turkey. However, as they're in PA, I'm sure they'll enjoy their turkey. Me, I'm hoping to catch some trout, and I'll make those. Oh wait, they might not be in season anymore… scratch that. I'm ordering a pizza. 🙂

So, the standings after a few solid hours of Mario Kart: Double Dash
38 wins: Eric and Erik (tie)
15 wins: my dog Flint
14 wins: Justin
As you can see, even a dog has beaten the poor, poor play of one wee boy named Justin. Ahhh, and to think how we had to hear "just put it on race mode, I'll kick your ass" to see only one win out of 15 races from the young man. Sad, sad indeed! 😀
We played a lot of battle mode (95% balloon, 1% star, 4% bomb) and a little bit of racing. It was a good evening. I'm going to bed now, my crown unchallenged by wimpy Harry Potter look-alikes. 🙂

Question: What's the most you've ever paid for concert tickets?
My Answer: $200 for two. Pretty cheap, I suspect, and I expect some answers to dwarf my expense.

When I discovered that you could control the ducks in Duck Hunt with the second controller, my dad never beat me again. I'd sit quietly, the controller subtly nestled between my legs as I sat Indian style "awaiting my turn." Ahhhh, memories. Thanks Mike.

I hope that Tiger Woods 2004 gets a bit more difficult. I've just finished winning my first tournament, and I'm now on my second. After a rather uneventful 16-under-par first-round performance, I entered the second round of the tournament. The critical stats for that round:
1 eagle
1 no-putt
2 two-putts
7 tap-ins
14 fairways hit (every one)
17 birdies
17 greens hit (I was an inch onto the fringe on one hole)
19 putts
19 under par
52 total shots
This puts me at 35 under par for the tournament, only 30 shots ahead of the second place player. I could probably finish the tournament with only a pitching wedge and still win.
I hope this game gets more difficult soon. And yes, I know that it will. The key word is "soon."

Question: On average, how many photos do you take per day? Are you a photo nut?
My Answer: I take pictures once a week, when fishing or doing something else, and at those times I take anywhere from 5 to 20 pictures. That averages out to about two photos per day. This puts me pretty low in the "photo nut" list.
