I'm not going to list what we did every day, but today started in the Magic Kingdom and was the location for something which had the potential not to ruin our vacation, but to put a serious dent in the enjoyment.
Carey'd misplaced her card, so we waited for her to get a new one (the old one was just turned around backwards in her wallet). We watched the opening ceremonies from outside the gates, and when we went inside, Carey picked up a small blue Mickey-shaped metallic piece of confetti. We put it in the stroller.
We then walked quickly straight for Dumbo - a ride Carey's guide said to ride first and then ride again if possible before the lines got too long. We rode the carousel. We rode the Pooh ride. Then we parked our stroller and went in two or three shows and rides (Peter Pan, the Philharmagic show, and perhaps another one or two).
Carey saw the stroller prior to us riding It's a Small World. When we came out of Small World, Carey said "wait here, I'll be right back." Five minutes later I see her waving, so we walk down to find that our stroller had been stolen. The person who stole the stroller had apparently taken my large Titleist umbrella out of the stroller before stealing it because the worker mentioned that he'd just found an umbrella lying on the ground moments before Carey showed up to get our stroller.

1) Depart Clearwater, FL at 5:00am to drive to Disney World. Epcot opens at 8, and we have to pre-check-in to the hotel (Pop Century, a Disney resort).
2) Epcot - Soarin', Test Track, Crush Live Show, Pops, etc.
3) Le Cellier for lunch
4) Afternoon nap
4) Hollywood Studios - Fantasmic, Toy Story
5) Late dinner at hotel
Soarin' was eh. The technology was fine and worked well, but there were no transitions between the different "flights." One moment you were flying high (and kind of slowly) over mountains, and then instantly you were speeding along over a white-water river in a canyon.
Test Track was great - we'd ride it on our last day twice. Fantasmic, Toy Story (a 3D virtual shooting game/ride), both great. The Crush live show is pretty interesting from a software perspective - it's really just a 3D game running with some custom pre-built moves, but it's incredible for kids who aren't aware of the technology yet…

Does Georgia have a factory that produces orange traffic barrels? I ask because Carey, Jill (Carey's mom), and I all swear we saw more traffic barrels in Georgia while stuck in traffic at 1am than we've ever seen anywhere else. We may have seen a million of them - they were spaced every 5-10 feet instead of the more normal 50-100 feet. Is the governor's brother the CEO of a barrel-making company or something?
Anyway, after arriving at 7am, and sleeping for all of 2½ hours, Carey and I went off to take the Touareg in for the service I mentioned in the previous post. Given our interest in the CR-V While there, we checked out the Honda dealership next door. A few thoughts on the models we checked out:

We're off to Disney World, with a one-day layover in Clearwater to visit Carey's grandmother.
The drive down was uneventful except for two three things.
The first gas station at which we refilled took 20 minutes to dispense 18 gallons of fuel. We'd already eaten in a restaurant (well, if Burger King counts as a restaurant), so the added penalty of waiting 20 minutes for gas was more than a pain. I've never seen a gas pump so slow. I even tried re-setting it a few times.
Then the traffic in Georgia became an issue. At 1am, three lanes became one so that about six workers could "work" on about 100 feet of road. Traffic was at a near standstill for five miles if "near standstill == 5 miles in 90 minutes."
Needless to say, our GPS estimated arrival time of 3:30am turned into 7:00am by the end of the drive. My mother-in-law drove the last four hours, at least.

I'm a self-taught golfer to this point, but I've hit a wall or ceiling and this summer I'm looking at taking some lessons.
I'd like to set up a "journal" to house my notes, images, and perhaps some videos. If it's online, great - I can easily share parts with my instructor(s) - but a desktop app might be fine, too.
Any suggestions before I go off and install yet another copy of WordPress? WordPress seems like overkill and too much of a PITA for this kind of project, so I really hope there's a better idea out there.
Requirements:
- Dated entries
- Ability to have notes (text), images, video
- Searchable
- Moderate to little "maintenance"
- Some sort of "sharing" capability (even if it's via export and then emailing) would be nice
- No need for comments, etc.
Any suggestions?

Every once in awhile, someone advances the opinion that since the PGA Tour has no gender rules ((If a woman ever qualified to be a member, there are no rules to prevent it. Women are allowed to receive sponsor exemptions to play in PGA Tour events - that's how Michelle Wie and Annika Sorenstam have played PGA Tour events in recent years.)), the LPGA Tour should ditch their "women only" rule, too.
I never understood how someone could advance such a theory, but those who believe it tend to be bizarrely adamant that they're right.
How can you possibly explain to someone how (insert a synonym for "stupid" of the appropriate strength here) that opinion is? They're clearly missing some massive part of their brain that is responsible for logic, reasoning, and perhaps common sense.</minirant>

Why on earth is my iDisk so freakin' slow. Isn't it just a .dmg on my disk that's automatically synced with cloud? Why do operations like copying a file to it or writing a file to it take so bloody long?
And why is this still an issue?

Let it be noted that the wife played golf today and thoroughly enjoyed herself. Ha. 🙂
Came home to watch the Pens win a game against the Rangers, Tiger Woods make about 19 bogeys in 18 holes, but also slip in about three or four birdies, to get to second place but well back of Sean O'Hair.
Went to see Benjamin Button in the evening. That's three hours of my life I won't get back.

Anyone out there own a Honda CR-V? Or a RAV4?
We're due to replace the Aztek this year, and we're considering the CR-V, the RAV4, or other vehicles in that "smaller SUV" class.

Remember when we'd measure an app's launch time by counting the number of bounces in the Dock?

I've yet to begin the search (I'll be doing so shortly), but I thought I'd throw it out there…
I'm setting up a blog for a small group and they need a calendar feature that lets them easily add a calendar to their WordPress blog. By "calendar" I mean one capable of displaying events and things - not just a no-function calendar that shows what day of the week the 22nd of the month falls on ((It's for this reason that I suspect my Google searches will be frustrating - WordPress templates have a "calendar" function that is all of the latter type and none of the former.)).
Integration with Google's calendar stuff may be ideal… Can you embed a Google calendar on a website? I dunno. I'll search shortly after I reboot for this iLife update… Please post if you can help, though. I'll appreciate it.
P.S. Back now. Searching for "events calendar WordPress" led me right to this plugin, which may very well do all I need. We'll see.

A few Republican friends have told me lately how he's noticed that "all the intellectually smug, superior Obama supporters have been relatively quiet now that their guy's in office and completely screwing up, going back on promises, or at the very least not living up to their unrealistic expectations. They're being awfully quiet these days."
Another friend observed that those who aren't quiet are simply trying to carry on with the intellectual superiority position, "putting down those who didn't vote for Obama because we don't understand the complexity of the financial mess when, seemingly, neither does Obama's team - which ironically were some of the folks who got us into this mess under Clinton."
