From xlr8yourmac.com:
Also, the firmware update does not fix the boot display issues with the Radeon X1900XT. It doesn't harm it either... I can still boot into Windows XP but get a black screen until the boot process goes out of the lower resolution mode as before. (However those with only a 23in Cinema display and X1900 XT said they could not even install Windows XP with that combo, as they never got any video when booting from the XP Install CD.-Mike)
Uhm, so…

Yes, I'm selling it. Why? My Mac Pro has shipped - that's why. As soon as I pull the information off the hard drive(s) in my G5, I won't have much use for it. I can't even think of a way to use it here around the house.
Dual 2 GHz PowerPC 970 (G5)
2 x 1.0 GHz system bus
2 x 250 GB 7200 RPM SATA hard disk
4x SuperDrive (CD-R/DVD-R drive)
2.5 GB PC 3200 RAM
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, 128 MB graphics card (ADC and DVI-I dual display)
3 PCI slots
Airport Extreme Card
Bluetooth module
Standard features are of course included: 56k v92 modem, 2 FireWire 400 ports and one FireWire 800 port, 10/100/1000 BaseT ethernet, digital and analog audio in and out, etc.
Include shipping in your offer to the contiguous U.S. Best offer gets it - personal check, cashier's check, or PayPal. I despise eBay, so, I'm going this route for now.
Contact me however you'd like.

The stickers on the back of the truck in this photo, taken with my camera phone while driving in Ohio on I-90 read "I'd Rather be Cummins Then Strokin'."
The fact that the bozo has his grammatical ignorance on display for all to see is at least close to being the most amusing thing about it.

I will not tolerate a six-hour round of golf. It's that simple. 😛

Jeff - of The Sand Trap - and I played Cranberry Highlands golf course today. It was pretty incredible, really - a very unique and interesting course. Thick rough, etc.
After getting off to a bone-headed start (I blame coin-jingling, flag-walking, putt-interrupting Dave), I played the last 13 holes in only one over. Not too shabby.
Jeff leaves tomorrow.

I am no more. Suffice to say a lack of discipline from the coach made the decision to stop wasting my time an easy one.
On the way to the airport to pick up Jeff yesterday, I called the father of the one boy on the team about whom I had a lot of good things to say, and I said them to him.

The Wii price has been announced - $249. A bit higher than some suspected, but still reasonable. $49.99 for games, $39 and $19 for the remote and nunchuck.
When will pre-orders be available?

I have a few music videos. Some I bought from iTunes, others I encoded myself from DVDs.
Aside from some Black Eyed Peas music videos (Dum Diddly, Pump It, and My Style) and a Death Cab for Cutie video (Soul Meets Body), which all show up in my "Movies" library, and my TV shows which show up in the "TV Shows" library, none of my music videos show up in the "Movies" library.
Why isn't there a separate "Music Videos" library and, given the lack of one, why don't my music videos show up in the "Movies" library?
Also, when I go to edit a music video (say, "Hips Don't Lie," which is oddly no longer listed in the iTunes Store), why does the "Video" tab let me set stuff like "Show" and "Season Number"? These have nothing to do with music videos. For awhile I thought my music videos had gone AWOL. Finding them is now very difficult at the very least.

Question: What are your thoughts on iTunes 7?
My Answer: I like the new look, in general, though I wish I could condense some of the source list views with a disclosure triangle. Cover Flow view seems nice. The look takes some getting used to, but I suspect it's very Leopard-like. The "tabs" are a bit odd, but I like that you can manage your iPod(s) within iTunes now (software updates, preferences, etc.). It's odd too that Devices don't remain in your source list after they've been ejected (particularly Shuffles). Free album art is nice, but I wish I got 640 x 480 versions of any music videos I had previously bought, even for a small fee.

From Laurel's TV Picks, I've cobbled together this ready-made list of TV picks for 2006's fall season. It doesn't include some shows I regularly record on The Golf Channel, but it does include the shows my wife watches.
And no, Desperate Housewives isn't her pick, it's ours. Hers for reasons unknown, mine for one very simple reason.

I wish Apple had streams of events like these. People could have even paid $0.99 to tune into the stream via iTunes. 😉

The problem I have with Parallels is that it doesn't seem like I can just format an entire disk and install Windows on it - I have to install it onto a disk image.
Boot Camp, if I understand it correctly, can be used to install Windows on an entire drive. That's ideal - I intend to set aside a 250 GB drive in the Mac Pro to be the "Windows drive."
I like what Parallels seems to offer, but I probably won't spend the $80 if I have to create a disk image (as dumb a reason as that may sound).

I searched The Sand Trap for a term using both the public interface and the back-end search available at the "Entries" screen.
The former took 63 seconds. The latter took four. It matters not when or in what order I do the searches. The same search results are returned. Why this disparity exists is beyond me. Safari is not spending 59 extra seconds formatting the HTML - it's executing the .cgi, the actual search.
Something needs fixed.

Some of these are simply laughable. I mean, a tough-screen phone? That would be horrid!
Make sure you view beyond the first page of mockups.
