Question: Do you use cron?
My Answer: Yes, and frankly, it's one of the best things to happen to the Mac OS. God forbid you try to run something scheduled in Mac OS 9 - it wouldn't happen if you were logged out, the machine froze or crashed too frequently, etc.

This winter, I had hoped to join a racquetball league during the day to stay in shape, stay busy, and stay active. I can't golf much, after all, and traditional winter sports don't appeal to me.
I first stopped by Westwood Racquet Club on Zuck. They're tennis-only, and the only daytime leagues they offer are for women.
Nautilus Fitness and Racquet Club is $49 or $106/month (single, couples) for a two-year agreement. It's open 24 hours, and leagues run 8-9 weeks. One just started this week, so I'd have to wait until the next set.

Question: Will the 'M' in 'iTMS' mean "Movies" as of October 12, 2005?
My Answer: Everyone seems to think so, and that's about all I can say on that without getting into trouble. 😉

Question: Where is your iTunes Window? What size is it typically?
My Answer: Top right and "medium" sized. It's collapsed to the smaller size, but it's also as wide as it can get.

And so it goes. Today, PulpFiction gets a leg up, unencumbered by the behemoth. 😉

Question: What is the capacity and form factor of your largest media card (largest in terms of storage, not physical, size)?
My Answer: A 512 MB CompactFlash card. One is going back today.
P.S. iPods don't count.

Yeah, camera phones really don't take the greatest photos, do they?

Question: What's the largest object you've ever driven?
My Answer: Just a conversion van. I've never driven a bus, a boat longer than 24 feet (I guess that's bigger than a conversion van, eh?), an airplane, etc.

The Amazing Race is, this year, a family affair. Teams of siblings or parents and offspring are competing in the 11,000-mile race. The first show aired this week, and as part of the introduction, the camera zoomed around some boats and focused on the various families. A voiceover would say "The Aiello Family, a father and his three son-in-laws" (for example) and describe them, their relationships, and 10 seconds or so of an interview.
Carey and I laughed out loud when the camera zoomed in on one of the final families, a black family, and said "The Black Family" as if they were saying "The Chinese Family" or "The Token Minority Family." Their last name was indeed "Black," but we still chuckled every time they were called the "Black Family." "Twenty minutes later, the Black family arrives." "The Black family has trouble rowing the boat." "Black family, I'm sorry to tell you that you've been eliminated from the race."
On a semi-related note, nearly everyone I've ever met with the last name "Black" is white, while nearly everyone I've ever known with the last name "White" is black. My sample size is rather small, but the Amazing Race's Black family is the first black family I've ever known of named Black.

Question: How often do you shave?
My Answer: Once every three to four days. I don't grow hair very quickly. 😛

Question: Are you ready for Winter?
My Answer: No. But this reminds me: I've gotta call around and see if there's a racketball league or something I can do this winter to keep myself occupied and busy. I'm not sure what place has racketball leagues in the winter here in Erie. For that matter, I'm not even sure what sports, workout, etc. places exist in Erie. I think we have a Nautilus…

Question: Which new TV shows do you like this year?
My Answer: My Name is Earl looked like it had potential (I like Jason Lee), but it's got one more episode or I'm deleting it from my Season Pass. Martha Apprentice is bad, and Carey can watch that one by herself if it doesn't get better. And, actually, those are really the only new TV shows I've watched this year. So, "none" is my answer.

Question: Does your car have a moonroof? How often do you use it?
My Answer: Yes. My first car, a 1999 Sunfire, had a moonroof and the thing was open all the time. Even in the winter. The Aztek didn't have one, and it's the only thing I'd have done differently if I could have custom-ordered it. The Touareg has one, and I'm thankful. It's down all the time, except the obvious: when it's brutally cold or when it's raining/snowing (soon).

When you add maraschino cherry juice to a still glass of Mountain Dew, you get something very similar to a tequila sunrise effect that's quite lovely:

Michael King is a seven-inch-tall lineman for the Jets. The way Chad Pennington has been pounded this season, that sounds about right.
