How many pages of applications are on your iPhone? How many folders do you have and how many apps are just hanging out on their own?

I have only two pages. As you would read, I have (italics = folders):

Calendar, Clock, Notes, Maps
Calculator, Games, Entertainment, Compass
Sports, Social, Photography, Settings
Weather, WeatherBug, TWC, Music
------
Network, Distractions, Misc
------
Mail, Phone, Messages, Safari exist in the dock.

I find it easier to use the "Spotlight" to launch "Wikipanion" than trying to remember what folder it's in (Entertainment - perhaps not the best name but it fits as well as anything else).

So, two pages of apps, nine folders, nine free applications (excluding the four in the dock).

How's your phone set up?

I'm not in advertising, and I'm not going to pretend to understand whether this type of ploy works on women ((If it does, what does that say about women? Seriously, are they this… simple? Then again, look at a beer commercial. Do guys really think women in bikinis will come to them simply because they drink a brand of beer?)), but it seems to me that these ads are directed at men a lot more than they're directed at women.

What's your take?

I read this article and the original article about a man maintaining his rights and refusing to divulge personal information.

I took a similar stand when some U.S. Marshals showed up at my door in Florida because I had the same first name as a former resident of the apartment who was wanted for goodness knows what. I was clearly not their guy, they could see that at the door, and though I wondered what kind of judge signs a warrant to inspect the premises based on a guy with the same first name residing in the apartment.

That said, frankly, some people can get a bit too carried away with things. Awhile ago I also made this post called Don't Talk to the Police and can think of several instances where common sense simply has to prevail and taking the "don't talk to police" to the literal extreme is just going to make things harder on yourself than using your intelligence to give a simple answer to a police officer who is not out to get you.

Chipotle will open here in Erie in about a month. I've been to exactly one Chipotle in my lifetime - in Columbus, OH - and the experience was one I've remembered.

My memories are that the burrito that I got was quite large, despite not caring for many vegetables or sauces. I prefer rice, beans, meat, and cheese primarily, with occasional extras like queso but not salsa or lettuce or anything like that.

We have another local semi-fast-foody type Mexican place called "Moe's" around here as well, and I wonder how their business will be impacted. Chipotle doesn't appear to have even half of the seating that Moe's has, and their bar is shorter. Chipotle's menu is much smaller and they charge for chips… which are free at Moe's.

I think I'd heard of this one spot where Golden Eagles drag goats off the mountain a long time ago, but I'd never seen video of it. Or maybe I did - when I was a kid, we watched this long series of nature videos narrated by David Attenborough.

The videos came in "an attractive carrying case ((A glossy shoebox.))" that was the subject of an over-used joke.

Hilarious:

1. Notice that "Apps" in iTunes has x updates listed.
2. Click "Check for Updates" in the "Apps" section of iTunes.
3. You're taken to the iTunes store, and click "Get all updates" (or whatever it's called).
4. You sign in.
5. You get the dialog box above and need to revert to step 2.

So friggin' annoying.

So, the fifth season of Dexter kicks off in a bit, and I'm looking forward to it.

I'm not looking forward to the inevitable bullcrap about dealing with Dexter's wife's death (her name escapes me at the moment). I like big plot twists like that, but I dread the inevitable drawn-out aftermath.

And can anyone top Trinity as a foe? I don't think so.

Still, I'm looking forward to it. That and Weeds, though Weeds kinda jumped the shark a bit a season or two ago, di'n't?

Credit to Adrian Kenny for this icon. We liked a crate icon he'd designed, and asked him to modify it for this purpose. The Analyzr document is a one-off document that most people won't see (a bundle of data, videos, and thumbnail images).

I'm looking for a Rails developer who will have some free time this winter for project I'd call moderate in size.

The project will involve the modification of an existing Rails application into a more feature-filled version of the application.
